Barack Obama goes into more depth on the marriage equality issue in his book, "The Audacity of Hope". While he recognizes that he can only support equality in federal and state rights and benefits but currently does not support the conventional "marriage" of same-sex couples, he also admits that his is a deeply rooted bias and he may very well discover himself on the wrong side of this issue
